Australia news-
Six million eligible Australians are set to see a $250 cost-of-living bonus in their bank accounts within days.
The tax-exempt payments were announced by Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg in the 2022 budget for welfare recipients, veterans, retirees, and concession card holders.
Services Australia indicated that according to the legislation, payments will start automatically from April 28, and recipients will receive an email to confirm that the payment has been made.
Notably, the $250 pre-election payment was just one of the measures announced in the 2022 budget aimed at alleviating pressures from the rising cost of living due to the war in Ukraine, soaring commodity prices, and supply chain issues caused by the coronavirus.
