Australia news-
Sixteen people have died from the Corona virus in Victoria, but the state has recorded a slight decrease in infections and hospitalizations.
About 9,439 new cases were recorded today - slightly down from 10,674 yesterday - while 428 people are still hospitalized with the virus, compared to 444 yesterday.
In New South Wales, 13 people died from the virus, and 15,283 infections were recorded, compared to 16 deaths yesterday and 17,447 cases, respectively.
In this context, the number of hospitalizations decreased slightly across the state, with 1,632 cases of corona being treated in New South Wales.
Today's numbers come after restrictions are lifted in the two states, as from 6pm today, there will be no need to isolate NSW positive coronavirus household contacts.
Finally, changes to the rules of close contact will alleviate labor shortages in the hospitality, transport and shipping industries, all of which have been under pressure from isolated communications.
