NSW Health said that these materials, which are spread in all homes in the state, are of great importance and benefit in keeping germs and diseases away.
However, it is necessary to keep these products away from the hands of children and infants and to apply sanitizer on their hands in a moderate amount.
The agency also posted on Twitter on Sunday, "Discipline in the amount of material used is very important."
And the cases of poisoning due to sterilizers increased after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and the frequent use of sterilizers, as the number of infections in 2020 reached about 164 cases, up from 65 cases in 2019.
A six-year-old girl in 2020 suffered from severe symptoms after being poisoned with ethanol, such as slurred speech and vomiting.
