Australia news- Five Afghan families are still waiting for their humanitarian visas that must be issued by the Australian government.
The families are living under the auspices of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) after fleeing Afghanistan as a result of torture and losing all their money.
One family says they have been waiting for the visas to be issued since last September and believe that the Australian government took part after the Ukrainian refugee crisis emerged.
Some families also contain members who were injured while in Afghanistan as a result of ISIS bombings.
ABC News said it had attempted to contact the office of Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke in recent weeks without a response.
Afghans in Australia warn that they will be tortured in their country if humanitarian visas are not issued and deported back to Afghanistan.
