AUSTRALIA NEWS - A Perth family has lost a father of four in an e-scooter crash in Thornley.
Kim Ro was traveling home on his electric bike after his night work - a ride he takes almost every night - when he crashed into a cyclist on a dangerous bend on the corner of Nicholson-Yale Road.
Paramedics arrived at the scene at about 2.30am this morning and took the 46-year-old to Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Mr. Rowe was wearing a helmet but the impact of the accident was so great that he died of his severe injuries in hospital.
The 52-year-old cyclist sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
It is worth noting that the death came just months after the state introduced new rules for e-bikes.
Under the legislation, only passengers over the age of 16 can travel at night, they must wear a helmet and keep their speed less than 10 km/h on pedestrian paths.
But there are now demands for tougher regulations and rules.
