Today, police are hunting a gunman after the murder of a man in southwest Sydney, believed to have been a tit-for-tat between two gangs.
Emergency services were called to Narelle Crescent, Greenacre at approximately 9:30 pm yesterday and found Mahmoud Ahmed, in his late 30s, with a gunshot wound.
In the course of this, paramedics tried to treat him, but he died at the scene.
As of this morning, the crime scene remains closed to the public as police continue their investigation, with forensic officers touring the area in search of evidence.
They will also search nearby properties for footage during the incident to see how the gunman managed to escape.
It is worth noting that police are also looking into two vehicle fires found in Greenacre and Belmore to see if they are linked to the accident.
Finally, his brother Wali Ahmed was shot dead in 2016 while he was in a shopping center in Bankstown in western Sydney.
