Australia news- Australia's farmers are advising residents of several procedures and tips for finding the best prices in groceries.
The farmers say that the difference in the shop and location may change the price a lot, and the prices should be checked periodically.
NSW Farmers Vice President Xavier Martin said residents would find better deals if they moved outside of major grocers and brand names.
"Take a look at local shops and markets to get a better price and higher quality," he added.
Shoppers have found that Sydney's southeast suburbs sell bananas, potatoes, oranges, tomatoes and cucumbers $1 a kilo cheaper than supermarkets.
The price of a kilo of onions is less than half the price in the supermarket.
The group that researched the markets says that good deals aren't always there, but it's worth a look.
He advised farmers to follow a healthy diet in line with the current season, when it is now the season for apples, citrus fruits and bananas.
