Marina Picasso, the granddaughter of the famous painter and sculptor, Pablo Picasso, told her son, Florian, that she and her son, Florian, will continue to launch the NFT collections depicting the work of the artist, “Picasso”.
This decision caused disagreements among the family as some members did not agree to the initiative.
Earlier this year, Picasso’s grandson Florian jumped on the NFT bandwagon by releasing a collection featuring some of the painter’s famous artwork.
The 30-year-old first released 1,000 irreplaceable tokens in collaboration with musician John Legend.
Soon, some family members opposed the project.
In a recent interview, Marina Picasso, the granddaughter of the legendary painter, revealed that she and her son will continue to produce such assets, adding:
NFT as a modern technology that allows communication with art.
You really attracted me.
In this way I decided with my son to create an NFT group.
Picasso’s granddaughter confirmed that there was indeed a misunderstanding in the family regarding the project.
After discussing the issue, the group was supported by the son of the painter “Claudio”, who stated:
I have the support of my uncle, Claudio Picasso…He devoted his life to protecting my grandfather’s legacy.
