Development activity is one of the main indicators taken into account when evaluating a crypto project.
Here is an overview of the projects that have seen the most active development in 2021, according to the Santiment platform:
The development data comes from thousands of public repositories that the platform actively follows in order to avoid bloated development activity, excludes undeveloped data, download versions, etc.
🥳 What a year from #crypto. It’s hard to believe #Bitcoin breaking $27k was the big news a year ago. From multiple #AllTimeHighsto #Cardano, #kusama & #Polkadot battling to be the most developed asset in 2021, we cover it all in our year-end report! 🧐 pic.twitter.com/mwBKqedVwh

The most active crypto projects in terms of development:
It’s no surprise that Cardano’s project takes first place on this list, but Kusama and Polkadot’s projects also come close to taking the top spot.
Both became the second and third largest projects in 2021, respectively, with the same amount of total development activity.
Ethereum was the fourth most developed asset last year, with nearly 100,000 development activity and movements.
In addition to the first list, Santiment also published a slightly different list from the first, showing the average number of daily active contributors to Github for any project.
While Cardano was only slightly ahead of the top list, he far outperformed both Kusama and Polkadot in terms of active contributors.
However, there were no changes in the top four, with Kusama also reaching second place, while Polkadot became third and Ethereum ranked fourth.
Interestingly, Ethereum had almost as many active contributors as Kusama and Polkadot.
