The world’s largest restaurant chain has placed ten orders to offer virtual goods and drinks in the form of downloadable files and media containing non-fungible (NFT) tokens.
The Chicago-based company is preparing to operate a virtual restaurant that displays both physical and virtual goods.
McDonald’s also plans to organize several entertainment events, including concerts, at the Metaverse, according to one of the trademarks’ filings.

It is worth noting that McDonald’s started getting closer to the cryptocurrency community in the wake of the recent cryptocurrency crash (which happened in January).
Last month, retail giant Walmart filed several Metaverse-related trademark applications, aiming to offer a selection of virtual goods.
Nike and Adidas, one of the major sportswear companies, also jumped into one of the most important trends in technology, the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Gap apparel and accessories retailer also launched its own NFT collection.
Meanwhile, entertainment giant Disney recently hired an expert on NFT.
After Facebook rebranded itself to Meta in early November, Morgan Stanley analysts predicted that the Metaverse market could reach $8 trillion, but they also warned of significant hurdles to adopting it.
